What this page is
This page documents exactly how we obtain consent before sending anyone a text message, what those messages say, and how to stop them. It exists so that carriers, and anyone else who wants to check, can see the whole workflow in one place.
Messages are sent from our toll-free number, (888) 570-3981.
What messages we send
Three types, and no others. We do not send promotional or marketing text messages.
Weekly story prompt — Vividly Line subscribers
Frequency: about one per week.
Vividly: This week’s question — what was your mother’s kitchen like? Call 888-570-3981 to record your answer. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
Session reminder
Frequency: before each scheduled recording session.
Vividly: Your recording session with [interviewer] is tomorrow at 2:00 PM. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
Booking confirmation
Frequency: once per booking.
Vividly: Your appointment is confirmed for [date] at [time]. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies by which of our services someone uses, but for a Vividly Line subscriber it is about one message per week.
How consent is obtained
We obtain consent in three ways, depending on how the customer came to us. All three are described here honestly, including the verbal one, which is how most of our customers are set up.
1. Verbal, during a setup call
Most Vividly Line customers are set up over the phone rather than through a web form. During that call, the storyteller is asked directly:
“Would you like us to text you a question each week? You can stop them any time by replying STOP.”
We log the date, the time, and the name of the staff member who obtained consent, against the phone number given. Nothing is sent until that record exists.
2. Web form, at intake
Our online intake form includes an unchecked opt-in box, with the consent language displayed next to it. It is never pre-ticked, and the form can be submitted without it.
3. Written, on paper intake forms
Used in person and in partner settings such as senior living communities, where a form is filled out on paper. The same consent language is printed beside the box, and the completed form is retained.
The exact consent language
This is the wording shown beside the checkbox, verbatim, on both the web form and the paper form:
☐ Yes, text me a weekly story question and session reminders at the number above.
Message frequency is about one per week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. Nobody has to agree to text messages in order to buy anything from us, and declining changes nothing about the service they receive.
The storyteller consents for themselves. A family member buying a gift cannot opt someone else in. Where a purchase is a gift, we contact the storyteller directly and obtain their own consent before any message is sent to them.
How to opt out
- Reply STOP to any message. This takes effect immediately and needs no further action — you do not have to reply to anything else or explain why.
- Reply HELP to any message for support information.
- Or call us at (850) 905-6463, or email j@vividly.family, and we will remove the number ourselves.
Opting out of text messages does not affect anything else about the service. Sessions, recordings, and the archive all continue exactly as before.
What we do with opt-in data
We do not share, sell, or transfer mobile opt-in information or consent records to third parties for marketing purposes.
Consent records are kept so that we can show consent was given and honoured. The only third party that touches the message itself is Twilio, which carries it on our behalf and does not use the data for its own marketing.
Our full Privacy Policy covers everything else we hold and what we do with it.
